Marcus Mumford recorded at Styles Recording Studio in Exeter

Marcus Mumford, lead singer of Mumford & Sons, recorded vocals at Styles Recording Studio in Exeter.

We aim to provide the same relaxed, professional recording environment for every artist who comes through the door — whether they’re an established performer or recording their first release.

Recording Vocals

Marcus used his own Shure SM7 during the session. The SM7/SM7B family has become a studio favourite for vocals and a wide range of other sources thanks to its smooth, controlled sound and ability to handle powerful performances.

We were so impressed with the results from the session that we added an SM7B to our own microphone collection shortly afterwards.

Since this session, Styles has continued to work with artists on vocal recording, production and mixing projects from our Exeter studio.
